Re: FluxBB Conversion Status

Post by tahanson43206 »

The FluxBB system continues performing well.
No incidents occurred during the past week.
An interesting situation showed up. It appears that certain Unicode symbols do not display properly.

The Google Meeting was interesting and productive as usual.
Work progressed on a solar powered propulsion system.

The next Google Meeting will feature discussion of a space propulsion system.
Issues currently in discussion include:

1) How best to deliver Photons to the engine to heat hydrogen gas
2) How to couple the white hot engine to the space vessel.
3) How to steer the vessel - a possibility is to use the docking mechanism to provide tilt
4) How to deliver propellant to the Hot Bulb
5) A new focus is the length of the Hot Bulb - two initiatives are under way

4) How to deliver propellant to the Hot Bulb

The FluxBB system has been performing well.
However, a failure did occur during the past week. The failure involved working with MySQL. PHP reported that a resource was closed when it was accessed. The problem did not reoccur. The situation at the time of failure was a Search request.

The Weekly Google Meeting was attended by three: Two members and one guest.

Progress is reported in two member initiatives.

The FluxBB system has continued operation without problems.

The weekly Google Meeting was productive.

The upcoming Google Meeting will likely include review of work by GW Johnson, exploring the interesting idea of PhotonBytes to consider a flight to Mars that would take 15 days. While he technology needed does not exist today, in 100 years it should be available.

At the time the Wright Brothers achieved human powered flight, the fastest travel opportunity on Earth was provided by the steam locomotive.

The Wright Brothers routinely used steam locomotive powered trains to travel between Ohio and North Carolina.

In 1903, per Google, the fastest train on Earth was a German Electric train that ran 130 mph (210 km/h).

In 2003, humans had traveled to the Moon and returned with a velocity of 39,897 km/h (Apollo 10 per Google).

Per calculator, the ratio between 39897 and 210 is 189.9857.

Rounding to 190, the corresponding ratio for velocity in 2103 would be: 7,580,430 km/h, or: 2105.675 km/s

The velocity estimated for the 15 day flight to Mars (as computed by GW Johnson) is 60 km/s.

It appears that if the trend is correct, humans will have the ability to travel at 60 km/s well before 2103.
